I knew that going back to school was going to be a big change in my life. I also knew that it was a change for the best. I contemplated this change for a while before making the commitment and setting goals for myself. The goal is to get my bachelors in psychology, then go on to get my masters and then my PhD in forensic psychology.
As I wrote down my goals and set milestones for myself the idea of this large commitment began to weigh on me. I turned to my husband for support, who assured me that I could do anything I set my mind to. It was then that I looked around me and realized that my life is full of constant change. Seconds change into minutes, minutes into hours, hours into days, days into months. All the while my two children hit milestones in their own lives. These milestones are sometimes caught on videotape or camera to be displayed when they are older and remind me of their beginnings. But most of them are not caught on video or camera, most of them happen in fleeting moments that will only be recorded in my memory. Those are the changes I need to focus on.
School is a landmark in my life, an chance to accomplish my dreams and set a good example for my children, not a change that I need to worry about. Just to take one day at a time.
You are taking to this blogging thing like a fish to water! :)
